Our Mission

We’re unearthing some incredible wines at prices that seem impossibly low…

The negociant wine business isn’t a new concept. In fact, a few have done it quite well. You know who they are. But we’re aiming higher.

The wine industry landscape is shifting. And in some cases, completely fracturing. Many won’t make wine this year. Most will cut production. The headlines report doom and gloom; “Gen Z doesn’t drink wine”, consumption is down, prices are too high.

But I still drink it. If you’re reading this, you probably do too. We like to drink good stuff made by great winemakers. Hillside Select or a Corton-Charlemagne on a Tuesday night? Sure, why not? Well…it’s too damn expensive for one.

I can’t pay $100, $200 or $300+ to gain entry for the annual Grand Pritchard Hill Cabernet Experience. But we’ve been in the industry for a long time, building connections and seeing how the bread is made.

And now, we’re coming out of the shadows with one goal in mind – to find some insanely good wines and bring them to market at fair value. To do this, certain aspects need to remain hidden from plain view – vineyards, winemakers, wineries, and other details may remain hidden from plain sight. These are, after all, our friends, neighbors, and compatriots in the industry. We need to look them in the face, you know.

But still, if you dig deep, you might figure it out.

And one thing is clear as day – everything we serve up will overdeliver.

Michael Meisner
Scribe

Mike has been in the industry since moving to Napa in 2009. He spent five years working at Last Bottle during their early days. He traveled to Europe to help source direct imports and tasted thousands of wines that came across the sample queue.

From VinItaly to Prowein, to Bordeaux and the Rhone, he helped taste, evaluate, and learned how the sausage was made behind some of the largest ecommerce sites in the industry.

Mike currently works at Wine Spies under the “Agent Rhone” moniker. When he’s not bleeding his eyes in front of the computer he’s training for marathons, dreaming of powder days in Tahoe, and spending time with his family.

Bobby Moy
Winemaker

Bobby has trained under many mentors, notably, Thomas Rivers Brown. He runs his own label, Chiron. Having studied at Oregon State and eventually becoming a research winemaker in Corvallis, he brings deep scientific background to his approach.

That means he’s meticulous, calculated. With a bloodhound nose for the good stuff, and the chops to fine tune it into some righteous juice, he’s a guiding light to find our path toward uncovering some great opportunities.

When he’s not pulling 12-hour shifts at the winery, he’s spending time with his son, overlanding in his Land Rover, or reading a good book (fun fact: Name of the Wind is his favorite).
